About Project

The project intends to speed up the adoption and enforcement by the Georgian government of provision related to the management of PCBs. More specifically, under component 1, the project intends to assist the country in the development and enforcement of specific rules and standards on the management of PCB containing waste, as well as development of technical guidelines concerning all stage of the lifecycle of equipment containing or contaminated by PCBs. This support is highly catalytical, as it benefits of the high commitment of the country to align its regulation with the international conventions and EU regulation. The project will also complement the existing capacity of the companies in terms of inventory of PCB content in energy companies and transformer maintenance with the technology and technical capacity to destroy PCBs in the most cost effective way.
